Via WWLP: SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Local teenagers are spending their February vacation building functional gaming computers from scratch through a free workshop in Springfield. The “Build Your Own Gaming PC” class provides students with hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Ensuring that all young people have access to the tools they need to succeed, this initiative/partnership offers Springfield’s Youth critical technology support. “It’s simple. Kids need computers. The world in which we live in today demands it. Springfield.community and Strong Young Minds are stepping up.” declares Williams.

SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS – The two‑part, hands‑on technology workshop hosted by Springfield.community on December 5‑6, 2025 was a resounding triumph. Teens ages 14‑17 assembled at Make-It Springfield, rolled up their sleeves, and built their very own desktop gaming computers from the ground up.
